As a Civil Engineering Intern at HRG, I worked on a plethora of projects throughout my time with the company over the summer of 2024. I aided in the design of multiple agricultural and utility buildings on Autodesk Civil 3D and communicated with the main contractors to receive updates on the builds and adjust designs accordingly. I helped with site design for projects by mapping out wetlands and item placement within the project, such as compost filter socks, waterlines, and other utilities. I worked to regrade residential roads and assisted in pipe network design. I completed permit applications and documents crucial to the design of a project, such as wetland exhibits, project descriptions, and cost estimates. I went on-site on multiple occasions to attend project meetings, inspections for completion at various points within the project, and general project inspections during operation. I communicated closely with my superiors during my time with the company to meet deadlines, receive updates for my work and complete it accordingly, and provide them with updates on projects and requests from contractors as work was completed on our end and performed on theirs.

As an ESTI for PennDOT, I worked on multiple job sites; primarily independently supervising on a bridge rehab job and periodically watched over on a full bridge reconstruction, and a fifteen plus mile milling and resurfacing project. I supervised all project site activities, and managed upkeep of on-site materials on multiple contracted state job sites. In order to ensure both the safety of the crews and the public, I ensured that all activities were completed in accordance with the Pub-408 safety guidelines for construction. This guaranteed that the roadways and bridges were in safe operating condition for public use upon completion. I also worked directly with foremen and head contractors to make proper payments for work that both the prime and subcontractors did on-site.
