Technician

Denver, Colorado

As a Technician we receive an average of 5 service calls per day. Each service call has a main problem that the customer originally called about. This is the standard daily process that we go through at each call.1. When we arrive we take a look at the issue at hand and figure out a solution. 2. We also are responsible for performing a 25-point inspection on the door. This is necessary because many doors go years and years without any service, so the original problem is often stemmed from multiple issues with the door.3. After the inspection we put together 3 different options to address the issues at hand. Option 1 is usually the bare minimum, Option 2 is more work on the most pressing issues, and Option 3 is our Overhaul package deal that replaces the entire spring system and comes with a lifetime warranty.4. At this point we step into our salesman shoes and go over the inspection with the customer. We then go over the options to fix the door. During this time we try to persuade the customer to the overhaul package so the that the door is fully fixed, working smoothly, and is under warranty for life.5. The customer then chooses the option that works best for them and we begin on the work.6. Once we are done with the work on the door we go over everything again and show the customer the final product. We also receive payment and signatures and head out to the next call. Along with service calls we also have door installs. When installing a door we are responsible for disassembling and removal of the the existing door as well as a professional install of the new door and opener (if purchased).

Technician

Fort Wayne, Indiana Area

As A/V Installation Technician, I was responsible for providing a high degree of service for in-home audio, video, and home automation installation and programming. We troubleshoot technical issues daily, and learning the proper problem solving procedures is important to achieve efficiency. I learned a lot about residential audio video products and how components integrate into full systems,as well as gaining knowledge of networking and wiring, phone, data streaming, surveillance CCTV, home theater, and alarm systems. Our job was mainly separated into five groups: Pre-wire, Install, Programming, and Service. Pre-wire: We had to run new wires in the client's residence or business, if there was no existing cabling that could be used. We mainly ran RG6, 22/4, 18/2, 18/4, CAT5, and CAT6.Install: The install process was to install any components needed for the customers system. Some of the parts that we installed were: Connectors (RJ-45, F-Connector, BNC, D/C power plugs), Faceplates, Speakers, Televisions, Projectors, Screens, Blue Ray Player, Control 4 Amp, Game systems, Apple TV, and much more.Programming: After the installation process was completed, The Universal remote needs to be programmed to be able to control the entire system with one remote.Service: Service is extremely important. Our customer service is what separates us and helps increase client satisfaction as well as making sure the installed system is running smoothly.
