My team and I design creative and innovative workshops, lesson plans, and programming for visitors, college students, faculty, staff, K-12 groups, and members of the Rocky Mountain community that revolve around 3D printing, 3D scanning, 3D modeling, electronics and circuitry, woodshop tools, crafting, and fabrication.

Designed, developed, and deployed an educational augmented reality (AR) mobile application and associated artwork and collectable AR trading cards for the University of Wyoming Geological Museum. The educational mobile application allows "augmented" 3D models of museum specimens to be viewed by smart devices. This project seeks to enable visitors to better visualize important museum specimens and provide interactive, collectable educational materials that visitors may take home.

Organize tours, manage docents and schedules, answer museum emails, maintain relationships with local schools. Plan monthly and annual events aimed at both K-12 and college/adults. Plan annual field trips, where possible. Establish regular community programs and classes. Create teaching modules, supplementary museum material for sale. Develop additional sources of funding.

Summer position. Scan and digitally render fossils from the UW Collection of Fossil Vertebrates using DAVID equipment and software, to be uploaded on the UW Libraries website for public and research applications. Responsible for rewriting UW Library 3D scanning best practice guidelines.

Prepare and consolidate specimens in the UW Collections as needed, engage museum visitors and answer questions pertaining to fossil preparation.

Lead tours of K-12 groups. Engage and encourage scientific thought through discussion of UWGM’s most iconic specimens, answer any questions pertaining to collections on display. Use graphic design skills to design exhibits, guidebooks, programs, special events. Implemented a 16-page color educational booklet titled the “Junior Paleontologist Program” aimed at encouraging budding scientists to think critically about the world around them and learn more about Wyoming’s rich natural history.

Oversaw docents, organized and maintained existing exhibits, worked with faculty to develop new exhibits, managed certain finances, organized events to foster community involvement.

Assisted with paleontological and sedimentological projects requiring variety of skills including sample collection, preparation, weighing and processing in the UW Stable Isotope Facility.

Semester-basis. Taught lab exercises, graded assignments, quizzes and tests, lead discussions.

Promotion from the previous job title. Jobs now include working with students through graduation, serving as a single point of contact for any issue or questions students have. Responsible for students schedules, ensuring they're on track for graduation according to their selected degree focus. Still adhere to same principles and requirements of the job title of "admissions counselor" but with an increased job knowledge of all aspects of the Ashford University experience, and focusing on working with students for not 5 weeks but 4 years.

Main job includes enrolling and then ensuring success of adult learners in online degree programs. Required ability to make a personal connection with people of all ages and walks of life, and conveying to those who were nervous the benefits and value of a higher education. Side projects included creating and managing a team of 15 volunteer writers, editors, photographers, and artists in a start-up employee engagement and L&D newsletter for the 200-person division in which we worked.

Prepared specimens and developed initial lab techniques as a preparator under instruction from two supervisors.

Month contract work. Jobs included prospecting for fossil sites along grid within BLM land, in conjunction with petroleum companies interested in harnessing natural gas. Job included hiking and prospecting, use of Trimble software and proper field notes, including nightly field reports of topography, stratigraphy, and fossils observed.

Seven-week large-scale excavation of Snowmass Village’s Ziegler Reservoir. Responsibilities included moving sediment and excavating exposed material, plastering and transporting casts, managing volunteers and ensuring proper handling of discovered specimens, monitoring on-site heavy machinery to ensure material is undamaged, reporting to team leaders, gathering and organizing tools for 200+ volunteers, keeping up morale and serving as bridge between organizers and volunteers.

Oversaw lab exercises, graded assignments, drove students to and from local field trips.

Organized and detailed specimens in the collections that had been mislabeled or misplaced, as needed

Jobs included: initiating and organizing events for 400+ student residents, answering student and parent questions, distributing mail and packages, designing newsletters and flyers, and establishing relations with local businesses.

Summer position when not in school in Pennsylvania. Responsible for closing the store and preparing/stocking for early morning shift. Jobs included: stocking shelves and refrigerators, cashier, taking orders via headset, general clean-up and closing maintenance, cooking (croissants, bagels, donuts).

Summer/Fall job. As senior employee, responsible for managing staff of about 9 people. Jobs included: sorting and grading fruit, stocking store and refrigerators, baking pies, donuts, candied apples, hot dogs, working as a cashier, planting trees, managing orchard mazes, event planner and manager, and orchard loss prevention security.
