I worked as a member of the DARPA System F6 team, supporting the development of a spacecraft cluster design and simulation tool with a focus on enhancing and optimizing the user experience. I developed a new discrete event simulation architecture that reduced run time by a factor of 100 and wrote the code to implement it. With an interest in improving the transparency of the tool, I set up and was a primary contributor to a documentation site for the project that details my simulation architecture, philosophy, and code among other details about the model. I also designed and built a prototype for a mission analysis tool that provides in-depth insight into the results of a simulated mission by exposing and formatting output data generated by the simulation.

Working under Mark Morris, I developed a discrete event simulation in Python to model a mass-ejecting binary star system that has been observed by researchers at UCLA. By modeling millions of particles and their interactions, we hoped to better understand why the gas cloud surrounding the stars takes on a spiral shape in the manner that it does.
