• Worked on a data catalog which served as a system of record for all of the company’s data. This platform made all of Capital One’s data searcheable by storing metadata about the company’s business-critical datasets. Used by 1200+ data scientists and analysts.• Designed and implemented a caching solution for above catalog which improved the performance of dataset GET API endpoints by 100- 1000x. These endpoints were the backbone of the catalog and were called thousands of times per minute.• Designed and Implemented a solution which allowed the metadata of graph databases (i.e. Neo4j) to be captured in the data catalog which was originally designed to only capture metadata from SQL databases.• Implemented tool to score all dataset descriptions based on their information content using the tf-idf information retrieval algorithm.•Platform was built with Java Spring Boot framework, PostgreSQL, ApacheTomcat and ran on AWS cloud EC2 instances.• Successfully passed the AWS Certified Solutions Architect exam.
