Programmed Texas Instruments microcontroller to receive and amplify neural recording signals via Code Composer Studio through the use of on-board timers, ADCs, and Op-Amps and to stimulate nerves through the use of DAC and DMA transfers. Designed and soldered FPGA evaluation board to read and process recorded neural signals from Intan Technologies RHD amplifiers. Fabricated vibration motor, force sensor, and Peltier plate circuits for use in surgical experiments on miniature pigs. Received funding as a SOURCE - STEM 2024 Summer Research Scholar to develop a fully wireless ultra-wideband neural recording implant prototype to record small animal neural activity via carbon nanotube yarn electrodes. Presented findings at the 2024 Summer CWRU Intersections Undergraduate Research Poster Session.

Completed independent projects: redesigned (via SOLIDWORKS) the mechanism for capstan-driven Hapkit controller to minimize instability; redesigned calibration plate to adapt to new force sensor model for forceps used in da Vinci robot-assisted surgery. Managed time to create a schedule and adhere to strict deadlines; reported to the principal investigator directly. Designed and optimized parts for printing with Objet PolyJet 3D Printer and Ultimaker 2+; finished and confirmed fit of 3D prints.

Shadowed in the operating room–laparoscopic, robotically-assisted (via the da Vinci Surgical System), and bariatric surgeries. Connected the design considerations of each instrument with their uses in the operating room.

Coached classes of 20 for beginner and intermediate players; ran skill evaluations on incoming students (children up to adults) to sort into classes; taught proper form and technique; set up and oversaw drills; learned to communicate with and adjust my teaching methods for players of different skills and backgrounds.

Scribed for dental examinations and assisted the endodontist in consultations, root canal treatments, and dental implant surgeries. Sanitized operating rooms and sterilized medical instruments; answered the phone and confirmed appointments as front desk receptionist. Greeted patients at the front door and led them to the operating rooms; encouraged patients and provided soothing words to ease anxieties before procedures.
