Responsible for cases from cradle to grave--charging decisions, approval of case theory and strategy, expert witness selection, pre-trial motions practice, jury pool notification and logistical support during voir dire, and assisting and advising prosecutors during court hearings if not personally sitting on the court-martial. Also responsible for the administration of the Army's two courtrooms in Alaska (Anchorage and Fairbanks), supporting the military judge during all court sessions, ensuring the Accused is present and in the correct uniform for all court hearings, world-wide government and defense witness travel and logistics for all court sessions, and courtroom security. After trial, responsible for ensuring the convicted Soldier is secured, out-processed from Alaska, enrolled in the US Army Corrections system, and the travel requirements for the convicted Soldier and his escort team are correct. Also responsible for production and authentication of each court-martial's official court record, security of admitted evidence between trial and shipment to the Army Court of Criminal Appeals, and processing of all clemency matters for convicted Soldiers through post-trial and the appeals process. In addition to courts-martial, I was also responsible for processing all non-criminal administrative disciplinary actions requiring the commanding general's decision, over 300 individual cases in two years.
