While working as a counselor I supervised and guided children taking part in residential summer camp activities. Some of those being leading hikes to waterfalls, leading games at organized recreation, eating with kids at meals, and overall being a friend and showing them the love of Jesus. More typical duties were organizing activities, ensuring children safety, offering emotional support, greeting new campers, and implementing camp rules. There is nothing more fulfilling then watching the growth and changes that happen within the kids at camp. I am truly so thankful I got to help lead them and get to know them.

A typical night of childcare involves watching the kids, playing games with them, and watching a short bible story lesson. I have learned how to anticipate a child's behavior, enforce rules, and teach multiple children at once.

I maintained constant surveillance of patrons in the facility. I was always paying attention and ready to act immediately and appropriately to secure safety of patrons in the event of emergency. That led to responsibility, quick decision-making skills and active listening. I was certified in emergency care and treatment as required until the arrival of emergency medical services. Most importantly, I catered to the guests. Being this was in a retirement town, most of my guests were above the age of 60. I would greet them with a smiling face and help them get their pool supplies as well as putting it away.

I worked as a camp counselor for two weeks for Super Summer and Super Summer for kids. I worked as a bible study leader, rec leader, and lead a creative movement and water games track. Throughout these two weeks I made real relationships with numerous kids and helped them see the Love of Jesus. I was always ready for conversation with kids no matter the time of day. That taught flexibility, communication skills, and guiding skills.
