I am currently a PhD student at the University of Oxford, where my research passion lies at the intersection of wildlife conservation and space science. I am dedicated to developing an innovative methodology for detecting elusive felids in challenging environments, drawing inspiration from astrobiology. By leveraging tools employed in the search for extraterrestrial life, I aim to enhance our understanding of felid populations, behaviour, and habitat use, ultimately contributing to positive outcomes in human-wildlife conflict and anti-poaching efforts. Furthermore, my research holds the promise of serving as an analogue for future astrobiology missions, generating valuable data applicable to both terrestrial and space exploration.Before embarking on my doctoral journey at Oxford, I served as an International Biodiversity Officer at JNCC, playing a vital role in the implementation of nature conservation projects across the UK Overseas Territories. In this capacity, I contributed significantly to enhancing disaster resilience through the application of nature-based solutions and actively assisted in the execution of Coral Action Plans to manage Stony Coral Tissue Loss Disease. My responsibilities also encompassed the meticulous management of project finances and contracts, along with effective communication with stakeholders and diverse audiences. Additionally, I completed an MSc in Global Biodiversity Conservation at the University of Sussex. During this period, I conducted one of the pioneering assessments of the local Ocelot population in Northwest Trinidad.My academic journey has been fortified by a strong background in geoscience and astrophysics, earning a BSc in Petroleum Geoscience from the University of the West Indies. My extensive experience spans fieldwork, mapping, research techniques, and technical software utilization, complemented by proficiency in space technology, remote sensing, and research skills. Beyond these technical competencies, my work ethic is characterized by diligence, ambition, and motivation. However, what sets me apart is my fresh perspective and creative ability, particularly evident in my unique ideas that involve the incorporation of new technology into conservation research and intervention.
