Limited Licensed Master Social Worker, looking to help heal hurt people and perspectives, recently internationally published (top 5% downloaded in academic field) on parentification and adverse child experiences with an interest in treating substance use disorders, mental illness/dual diagnosis, and child maltreatment using motivational interviewing, neuro mental sequencing, and trauma Informed models of practice. I believe that there is no single therapeutic approach that can help a client in all situations. Each individual is just that, an individual, and as such treatment techniques must and should center on what is in the clent's best interest and use elements of different approaches to help them explore and cope with their problems. Additionally practice should be limited to verified evidence based practices, but that does not and should not prohibit as well as impede the evolution of best practice theraputic techniques. I strive every day to live out and practice the core ethical values of social work (service, social justice, individual worth and dignity of the person, the importance of human relationships, integrity, and competence) as cited and quoted in accordance with the National Association of Social Workers Code of Ethics stating: the values are evidenced by committed and consistent practice of the following principles: To have a primary goal of practice that helps people in need and to address social problems challenging social injusticeto respect the inherent dignity and worth of the person by enhancing clients’ capacity and opportunity to change and to address their own needs as well as resolve conflicts between clients’ interests and the broader society’s interests in a socially responsible manner consistent with the values, ethical principles, and ethical standards of the professionrecognize the central importance of human relationshipsbehave in a trustworthy mannerpractice within their areas of competence and develop and enhance their professional expertise
