As an Actuarial Associate Consultant, I manage a cross-functional team of six responsible for collating, analyzing, and reporting on financial costs, trends, and risks to enable our public-sector clients to make statistically-backed health program decisions. As part of this role, I frequently interface with pharmacists and clinicians to develop detailed medical guidelines that support the development of health plan rate models. I also work closely with our clients to build out health program changes based on their requested parameters. In this role, I heavily utilize Excel, Access, and SQL to develop models and to conduct analyses. My accomplishments include designing a new modeling process that allows our team to accurately and efficiently forecast pharmacy trends using historical claims data and input from pharmacists.

As a Senior Actuarial Analyst, I developed robust statistical models using Access and Excel to assist our public-sector clients with calculating the probability, costs, and risks associated with certain events to assist them in designing and pricing their health programs. This included aggregating and analyzing financial, encounter, and risk adjustment data to guide the development of Medicaid plan rates. My successes during this role include developing accurate health plan scores for Medicaid populations utilizing CDPS+RX, Medicaid RX, and CRG models. I also designed a Hepatitis C treatment cost pricing model to incorporate the breakthrough drug SOVALDI, which subsequently led to me maintaining and managing this pricing model as new Hepatitis C drugs came to market.

The Greater Phoenix Economic Council (GPEC) is an economic development organization dedicated to attracting and growing quality businesses within the Greater Phoenix market. As a Research & Strategy Analyst, I conducted critical research and analyses to support the business development department with attracting businesses who are potentially interested in relocating to the Phoenix area. A large focus of my role was on responding to requests for proposals (RFPs) from prospective companies, as well as providing baseline analyses and business landscape research to support the development of GPEC white papers. While in this role, I provided in-depth research on economic indicators and trends broken down by the local, regional, state, national, and international levels. As a key support analyst, I played an integral role in attracting multiple new businesses to the Phoenix region.

Network Technologies International (NTI) provides professional telecommunications engineering services with a focus on designing foreign carrier-grade national public-switched telephone networks. As a Research Analyst, I researched, analyzed, and presented the technical and functional details of various international telecommunications networks to support NTI’s current and prospective projects. This included utilizing SQL to develop and maintain an internal telecom record database, as well as collecting, categorizing, and standardizing large sets of unstructured data collected from various libraries.
