Dr. Tyler Safran is a Board-Certified Plastic Surgeon recognized by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada and board eligible for the American Board of Plastic Surgeons. Dr. Safran graduated medical school from McGill University in Montreal, Canada prior to being accepted to complete his residency training in Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery at the McGill University Health Centre. During his training, Dr. Safran received numerous awards and accolades for teaching, research productivity, and technical merit. These include the Benjamin Shore Research Award for highest research productivity, the Ross Adair Memorial Award for Teaching Excellence, and the Luong T. Ngyuen Award for the top performing resident. After residency, Dr. Safran continued to improve his aesthetic surgery expertise through the American Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery credentialed, University of Southern California’s “The AestheticSurgery Fellowship of Los Angeles”.In addition, Dr. Safran is heavily involved in conducting research and surgical innovation. He has authored over 60 peer-reviewed publications, multiple textbook chapters, and has given presentations at both national and international conferences. He acts as an active peer reviewer for the highest impact journals in plastic surgery, including Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery and the Aesthetic Surgery Journal. During his training, Dr. Safran completed a master’s degree in Experimental Surgery at McGill University, in which he conducted a randomized control trial on how to limit surgical bleeding and improve outcomes in breast surgery. His thesis was awarded top abstract at both the American Society of Plastic Surgery meeting and Quebec association of Plastic Surgery.
