Dear Hiring Manager,My name is Tyler Shand. I have experience working with the drumming podcast, Drummers I Like, where I connected with and booked professional drummers like Craig Pilo (Frankie Valli) and Josh Manuel (Issues) as guests on the podcast. In addition to artist relations, I performed assigned tasks which included posting and interacting on our social media accounts as well as producing content that directly connected with our audience. Within my time of working with DIL, the amount of followers and social media engagement organically increased from 2,500 to 37,000+ followers on Instagram. During this time, I also worked at the YMCA where I was a program and teaching assistant. I helped students ages 6-17 in their acting and drumming classes, provided mentorship, planned events and reached out to donors and sponsors. In addition, I was the Manager for the Lessons department at Guitar Center in New York City. I built sincere relationships with every client, whether or not they signed up for the company’s lesson program. Within the first month of taking the position, I brought the student count from 75 to 140 while maintaining and improving the whole department. I taught trial drum lessons to potential students and assisted with their program placement. My experience within this position also included assessments of potential issues and resolving any conflicts that were presented. During this time, I also did recruitment and student outreach at college fairs for my alma mater, The New York Conservatory for Dramatic Arts.In the summer of 2020, I was the assistant director for the short film, Up North. Some of my tasks included casting, creating contracts, location scouting, maintaining schedule and working directly with cast and crew on scenes. I also worked in the watch industry as a watch repair consultant at Watches of Switzerland. In my position, I created the best clientele experience, performed bracelet sizing for various brands and always looked for ways to further my knowledge.
