As a brand analyst for OpSec Security, I harvest and analyze large data sets to protect the online intellectual property of large companies. I analyze and enforce on counterfeits, copyrights and trademark infringements to protect my multiple clients. I have become very efficient at balancing many tasks at once, and have also sharpened my communication skills by collaborating directly with the legal teams of our clients to develop specific plans for protecting their online brand presence.

I contributed to two research projects during my time as a research assistant at NNU. I conducted the statistical analysis for a research team that studied forest fire burn extent through machine learning. My work in determining the statistical significance of the project’s results was published in MDPI’s Remote Sensing Journal. In this project, I used various analysis methods in Python, Excel, and R to analyze results from the models and establish statistical significance. I also worked on a different project analyzing a database of stock data. I worked with a team to analyze the database, and I used complex SQL queries to detect patterns, identify trends, and determine optimal buy and sell points. These two research projects gave me valuable real-life experience on how to apply my skills in both computer science and mathematics.
