I have accrued ten years of customer service experience in the retail, food service, and creative industry. I was employed by All About Bisque, a family owned and operated ceramic manufacturer and paint your own pottery studio, where I supervised a team of six creating ceramic works of art to be sold all across the United States and the United Kingdom. In the studio I worked directly with guests assisting them with the technical aspects of glazing ceramics and helping them realize their own goals for their finished pieces.I then began a career in the garden center industry where I assisted customers in realizing their goals for the look of their landscaping. I helped determine proper plant selection for their specific circumstances as well as landscape design, soil care, lawn care, vegetable gardening, tree selection and care and landscaping in general. I worked with a great team and loved my work, but I always wanted to work in the food industry so after almost five years I left to pursue that career.During the pandemic, however, I realized I wanted a career that would provide a higher level of stability and compensation. I have always admired those who are any part of the healthcare industry as they all play a role, whether large or small, in making a difference in the lives of millions of people every year. I began the Medical Billing and Coding Undergraduate Certificate Program at Devry University last year and completed my coursework with a 3.9 GPA. I look forward to starting a career as a medical coder or biller and will always hold myself to the highest standards of professionalism and ethics. As an AHIMA member I am continuously learning and improving my knowledge of the Health Information Management field and look forward to returning to school to achieve my Associates and Bachelors degrees in the future.
