I am a driven sustainability professional accelerating sustainable agriculture and durable carbon sequestration through a biochar startup called C6B. We convert organic waste to high quality biochar at scale, partnering with local growers to improve fertility and drought resistance in southern CA. Previously, I worked with Oliver Wyman supporting major banks and insurance providers in achieving critical strategy, operational, and transformational goals. During the pandemic I founded Mages of the Mountains, a small business offering virtual summer camps and after-school programs for children to meet the increased demand for childcare during lockdown. My experiences with Oliver Wyman and Mages of the Mountains have taught me two things about myself: that I love solving projects and problems, and that I care about measurable, real-world impact. I want to use my skills to accelerate powerful solutions like biochar that close the loop between waste and utility while measurably removing carbon from the atmosphere. In doing so, I hope to build the expertise necessary to help people and businesses evolve and adapt for a more sustainable future. In school I focused on studying the intersection between economics and sustainability. A variety of courses enabled me to learn about fundamental environmental science and systems, natural resource management and conservation, policy and regulation frameworks, emission accounting and offsetting, and more. Recently, I was selected to join the Climatebase Fellowship, which accelerates climate professionals and early-stage startups through education and networking. To achieve impact in my work, I leverage the following competencies and skills: project management, strategic planning, problem solving, team leadership, data analysis, financial modeling, market research, cross-functional communication, stakeholder engagement, and ad hoc support. I bring a flexible, optimistic, and fast-paced approach to my projects and am committed to fostering enthusiastic collaboration, attention to detail, and a client-centric focus within my team. If my skills and experiences sound like a strong fit for your team, I’d welcome the opportunity to connect!
