Though Tyler stepped down from GBA in 2024 after eight years, his leadership transformed it into a key player in backcountry skiing.Recently, BYC expanded its role, representing the State of New Hampshire’s Office of Outdoor Recreation Industry Development (ORID). Tyler serves as chief of staff for ORID Director Janel Lawton, focusing on workforce development, marketing, and events. Over a two-year contract, BYC and ORID will leverage New Hampshire’s outdoor assets to attract talent while developing a branded identity for workforce programs.Tyler is known for his creative energy and his ability to meet challenges. He developed SKI KIND, a nationally recognized stewardship code promoting responsible recreation, and authored GRANITELAND, a book blending coffee-table aesthetics with backpack-ready convenience. His creativity also shines through in events like the Graniteer Festival and the Wild Corn Backcountry Shindig, two outdoor events celebrating New Hampshire’s vibrant community. As a public speaker, Tyler captivates audiences across the state with his passion for the outdoors, delivering engaging and enthusiastic talks.
