Dr. Wallace is a healthcare leader, strategist, and consultant who combines extensive experience with robust academic training to deliver exceptional value to his employers and clients. His diverse background includes leading and consulting in various healthcare environments, including government, startups, academic medical centers, healthcare delivery systems, and rural health environments.During the COVID-19 pandemic, the Federal Government recruited him for the role of Senior Advisor for Global Health Strategy and Resilience at the United States Agency for International Development (USAID). His first position was in the Global Health Bureau and then advanced to a Sr. Advisor position for the agency’s Global COVID-19 Task Force.Before civil service, Dr. Wallace was the Director of Strategic Management at The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center (the world's premier cancer center). He facilitated the development and implementation of the organization’s strategic execution framework.At MD Anderson, he proved himself as a change leader as he led and managed several successful, high-profile, and politically-charged projects to successful completion. He possesses a Certified Six Sigma Black Belt (CSSBB) certification from ASQ and a Portfolio Management Professional (PfMP) certification from PMI.Before MD Anderson as an independent consultant, Dr. Wallace developed the project management infrastructure for the nation’s largest ICD-10 initiative (50+ hospitals across five states). Before consulting, he managed projects and support operations for a Southeastern health system’s IT department. His first healthcare position was as a surgery orderly, and his first management position was as an environmental services supervisor.He obtained a Ph.D. in Healthcare Management and Policy from the University of Texas School of Public Health. His doctoral research and dissertation focused on the effectiveness of large-scale quality improvement collaborations. For research methods, he trained in quantitative and econometric statistical techniques.In addition to his doctorate, Dr. Wallace possesses an MBA from Kennesaw State University and a bachelor’s degree in Health Administration from Indiana University (IUPUI).
