As a Sales Consultant for the NEXT Christmas sale, I was able to successfully work swiftly and efficiently while maintaining a high level of customer service during the busy festive period. I was able to successfully learn new skills and adapt to the needs of the working environment quickly, as well as improving my ability to function as part of a successful team. My responsibilities included maintaining the shop floor, interacting with customers in a friendly and approachable manner as well as operating the tills. As part of my role I was also required to order in items for customer and handle items, which had been returned to the store. I was also able to improve upon my existing organizational skills while sorting, labeling and categorizing current and sale stock. As a methodical person I found I really enjoyed organising the stock and quickly adapted to make sure I could manage the items in the most efficient way possible. This role gave me great insight into working effectively in a fast paced environment and working to a high standard during a stressful shopping period.
