I was the director of Cogent Legal's Seattle operations, where I worked to help attorneys bring their cases to life. I helped my clients better understand their cases and craft effective narratives for their cases, including by design compelling visuals to help them tell their stories at mediation and trial.

I oversaw and participated in high-level, nationwide, complex plaintiffs’ litigation. I was involved in all aspects of the litigation of my cases, and I was especially sought out for my ability to research and write clearly and effectively on extremely complex legal and factual issues.There was nothing in litigation that I did not do. I oversaw daily management of cases, I coordinated with technical experts, I acquired and analyzed document and data discovery, I conducted and defended depositions, and I communicated regularly with other attorneys and clients. I was both a loyal team player and an effective leader, as well as the organizing force on many cases throughout my tenure. The variety of cases I worked on was extremely diverse, and covered numerous different legal fields, including intellectual property, antitrust, securities, constitutional law, and consumer protection.

I performed all the duties of a federal judicial clerk: researching all motions filed with the court, providing my thoughts and conclusions to the judge, and conferring with the judge regarding possible rulings on the merits of all motions and hearings before him.

As a law student, I worked in this employee-benefits-litigation firm on a variety of cases brought on behalf of employees. I specialized in drafting appeals of denials of long-term-disability benefits under ERISA.

I drafted employee benefit plans of all types, as well as accompanying documentation such as summary plan descriptions. I worked extensively with ERISA and COBRA requirements, as well as IRS rules for tax qualification of employee benefit plans.
