As the Safety Specialist I was responsible for the overall management of various safety program areas including, but not limited to, the following: Oil/gas construction Safety (including NFPA 70E implementation), Lockout/Tag Out, heavy equipment, Centrifuge, new construction and Machine Guarding . My key tasks for program management included ensuring compliance with company and regulatory standards, providing guidance and technical expertise to site operations, development/implementation of procedures and plans to assure operational compliance, development/delivery of program specific training, and continually assessing program performance and effectiveness. In addition, I would support/execute other required safety program activities including facilitating injury/illness investigations with supervision, performing classroom safety training, interfacing with construction contractors to issue hot work permits or energized work permits, developing/publishing program related safety communications, conducting job hazard assessments, and performing/participating in site safety compliance inspections and audits. I am also a member of the tier 2 rescues team and a trained incident commander holding current first aid and CPR certifications.
