Helped prototype a GPS tracking and rental system for electric bikes that could let the TRU Sustainability Office rent out e-bikes. Primarily worked on hardware and software development for the tracking device itself, coordinating with two other project members who were developing the online portal.

Worked with a multi-disciplinary team to create a forestry processor head control system:- Worked with the CAN bus protocol on a software and hardware level, using C++, C#, and an Atmel micro-controller- Programmed firmware for controlling hydraulic systems over the CAN bus- Programmed C++/Qt software to control devices over the CAN bus in a user-friendly way- Ported firmware to C# in order to run virtualized instances of the hardware for simulations- Prototyped hardware for interfacing with joysticks and various inputs/outputs which connected to the control software via the CAN bus.- Created a mobile app to remotely change configuration of the system as it was running, allowing for faster tuning of the systemStarted porting control application to C#:- Ported all core functionality rapidly while adhering to industry standards- Originally started with UWP toolkit, but quickly moved to WPF due to limitations due to existing USB CAN bus hardware in use- Interfaced with C++ libraries and started creating a C++/CLR library for CANable hardware- Researched using machine learning with ML.NET to calculate log diameter at different locations along the logWorked on a custom time tracking solution:- Used .NET Core to allow server software to be run on wide variety of server operating systems- Calculated overtime, statutory pay, and time off according to British Columbia and Ontario law- Created a web UI to allow for multiple different types of kiosk devices to connect- Created a mobile application using Xamarin to allow employees to remotely clock in and outCreated Cypress Robotics website (https://cypressrobotics.ca)Created multiple tools to integrate with QuickBooks Enterprise- Created tool to sync our website data (inventory count, parts list, etc) with Quickbooks Desktop- Created a tool that integrated with Dymo label printers that pulled part data from Quickbooks Desktop in order to generate labels, and allows users to print entire kits at once
