Fiduciary Officer
CurrentMy work in this role evolved to include: • Jumpstarting the fiduciary onboarding process for new clients • Coordinating the marshaling process to ensure that the resources, assets, and incomes of our clients are used to their benefit • Standardizing investigation and discovery efforts in the marshaling process, particularly for when initial client information is limited• Developing relationships with professionals across fields to meet clients needs as effectively as possible• Working with banks, retirement companies, and other agencies to coordinate CARE's appropriate access and liquidation of our clients' assets, as needed• Conducting property visits, processing documents to gauge the financial background of clients• Preparing inventories to provide the Marion County courts with CARE's findings as it relates to each client's asset picture • Interviewing the families/friends of clients to provide CARE's team with greater knowledge of clients' areas of support and concern • Keeping families updated about the efforts of CARE's fiduciary team so that they can keep CARE accountable to their people • Providing support and resources to help family members become decision-makers for their incapacitated loved ones • Notifying CARE's team, and other parties where necessary, of concerns of evidence of exploitation against our clients having taken place• Obtaining documentation to ensure that our clients maintain their public benefits as well as can be admitted to care facilities that can serve their needs • Electronically filing requests with the Marion County court system to allow CARE to open trusts, take certain actions with client properties, and request guardianship fees for our clients • Notifying the agencies of a client's death and working to smooth the fiduciary case-closing process • Prepared and coordinated the inaugural Celebration of Life event to allow CARE advocates to honor the lives of clients who they labored to ensure passed with dignity
