Career accomplishments include:•Serving as Executive Director for four years of the Tri-State Stroke Network, the first funded by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention focusing on the burden of stroke in North Carolina, South Carolina and Georgia. The success of the Tri-State Stroke Network under my leadership yielded the replication of multi-state stroke networks in the Delta and Great Lakes regions of the United States. All three Networks still exist.•The first Program Director of Operation Health 27610, a unique, grant funded partnership between an African-American community based non-profit organization and a major hospital system offering cardiovascular health education in a targeted zip code.•Publishing outcomes and facilitating a national roundtable on the role of a worksite wellness program in micro-sized minority owned businesses.•Receiving the 2008 Award from the Association of Black Cardiologists, Inc. for “Commitment to Diversity and the Elimination of Health Care Disparities” The majority of my career opportunities have been newly created roles that have allowed me to utilize my skills in turnkey program management, marketing, fundraising and strategic positioning for a number of health related national, state, regional and local entities.
