Road Staff - Touring Audio Tech
CurrentWorking as a full-time member of Eighth Day. I graduated from the in-house RIT training program on August 16th, 2024, and am eligible to accept touring offers as a result.Road Staff members travel with a touring band's crew for shows. On the road, safety and efficiency must harmonize, and PA tech's are no exception, perhaps especially crucial to this dance. PA techs are not only responsible for floating tons of weight over a crowd securely, but often bouncing between many hats in a run. Large format arrays require potentially lethal high voltage power, adding another piece of mandatory exemplary awareness for this role. Oversight is simply not an option.Living and working with the same people for an extended amount of time, and running on low sleep while working long days means the harmony of safety and efficiency must be constantly monitored, and carefully protected, always. More often than not, this means keeping a good attitude, and your head about you, even in the face of high-stress situations or environments. We go to the shop to work when off the road, so we are working year-round, always learning, and always hands-on.Credits so far:Kidz Bop, PA Tech // @ Blossom, one-off gig (stage left hangs, amp racks, x-stage, drive, ETC) [Aug 10 2024]Missy Elliot, RIT Student // @ Rocket Mortgage Fieldhouse, one-off (assisted SE with both Delay hang sides) [Aug 14 2024]
