As the lead senior associate of the group audit of a listed entity and its numerous subsidiaries, I was responsible for driving the engagement and managing the audit team, ensuring that audit issues are identified, resolved, and communicated to the client and the audit executives on a timely basis. Specifically:- I spearheaded the development of the audit plan through the performance of various risk identification and assessment procedures, and through heavy coordination with management and the team.- I evaluated multiple processes and internal controls and designed audit work programs to ensure that our audit procedures respond appropriately to the risks.- I also performed complex audit procedures on key audit matters affecting the consolidated financial statements and reviewed the work of the associates while providing agile coaching and guidance.

As an Assurance Associate, I was mainly responsible for executing audit procedures for the engagement, and principally communicating with the different members of management to gather and corroborate evidences and resolve audit issues. Specifically:- I obtained a thorough understanding of multiple processes and controls to identify risks, and performed walkthrough procedures and tests of controls to determine if such controls are operating effectively.- I executed substantive tests on various significant accounts ranging from general accounts such as cash, receivables and payables to more complex and industry-specific accounts, such as mine products inventory and current income tax with various tax regimes. - I also prepared and discussed with management effective action plans on various issues noted in its internal controls during the audit, which they could apply to strengthen their processes and increase their efficiency.
