I currently hold the title of Dispatch Manager at First Group my main function is fleet operations - to ensure the efficient and effective movement of our fleet ensuring profitably as well as ensuring customers are satisfied. This includes direct and indirect supervision of the dispatch team and the professional drivers. Beyond strategy development, I develop and monitor field efficiencies and innovate new ways to improve operations. I am also responsible for handling complaints, discussing challenges and working with management to develop action plans to improve driver performance, profitability and customer service. I am also responsible for employee performance reviews and feedback, providing motivation and encouragement, employee grievances or complaints, pay changes and dispatcher accountability responsibilities.These responsibilities also include but are not limited to:- Managing all routing modifications to ensure the business is utilising fleet and staff efficiently.Continually assess the service level and provide recommendations to managers regarding opportunities to improve operational performance.Monitor and manage Key Performance Indicators and cost factors impacting operational effectiveness.Effectively communicate with customers on a regular basis regarding core towing issues impacting the customer and the effectiveness and efficiency of the fleet.Build and maintain a positive work environment where team members and their contributions are recognised and valued. Maintain frequent communication with all team members.Find and create efficiencies regarding hauling maximum tonnage, coordinating backhaul opportunities, conserving fuel, reducing idle time, etc. by utilizing available technology (DreamTec)Monitor daily truck revenue goals – explain variances from company standard.Assist with data collection and reporting required for incentive pay programs.Establish and maintain a positive relationship with all drivers.Create a driver experience that is number one in the industry.Monitor jobs dispatched to drivers and work with Dispatch throughout the week to increase work maximize driver earnings and company revenue. I have over 7 years’ experience in extensive work in leading large teams of employees in a fast pace environment. I possess the knowledge, enthusiasm, and commitment to foster a high performance team, which has a proven ability to meet expense budgets and productivity metrics. I have a desire to continue this experience in a Leadership role in either an operations, technical, or customer service organization.
