I was the Deputy Chief assigned as the Executive Director of Police Operations. This assignment requires the management of the police departments primary operational component, covering approximately 125 square miles, serving a population of approximately 150,000. There are over 225 sworn officers in the Bureau of Operations, involving, but not limited to, a diverse infrastructure of technology systems, fleet vehicle apparatus, crime prevention initiatives, emergency management protocols, active shooter - hostage and barricade situational response, situational crowd management control, and community policing initiatives. These duties coincided with the responsibility of overseeing an operating budget of approximately $19 million dollars in taxpayer allocated funding.I am directly responsible for coordinating resources to address community problems; as well as overseeing the management of all uniformed field services, the animal control unit, the K-9 unity, all vice and narcotics operations, federal task force assignments, traffic support, swat operations, community policing functions, city alarm coordination, and assisting with labor union matters of concern. I am also specifically assigned as a KCK Housing Authority Board Commissioner.In cooperation with citizens, my primary management responsibility is to facilitate public safety through the responsive, effective, and efficient delivery of professional police service throughout Kansas City, Kansas.

As the Assistant Bureau Director of Police Operations I was tasked with aiding the Executive Director in managing the police departments uniform field operation component, covering approximately 125 square miles, serving a population of approximately 150,000. There are 218 sworn officers in the Bureau of Operations, involving, but not limited to, a diverse infrastructure of technology systems, fleet vehicle apparatus, crime prevention initiatives, emergency management protocols, active shooter - hostage and barricade situational response, as well as situational crowd management. These duties coincided with the responsibility of aiding the Bureau Director in overseeing an operating budget of approximately $23 million dollars in taxpayer allocated funding.As an Executive Officer I was directly responsible for coordinating resources to address community problems; as well as overseeing the Management of the Community Policing Unit, City Alarm Coordinator,and assisting with Labor Union matters / personnel accountability issues of concern. I was also specifically assigned as the interim East Patrol Division Commander, Crisis Intervention Team Coordinator, Drug Testing Committee Chair, Pursuit Driving Committee Chair, KCK Housing Authority Board Commissioner, JDAI Committee and WYCO JCAB Member.Ultimately, I facilitated the responsive, effective, and efficient delivery of police service throughout Kansas City, Kansas.
