Senior process engineer leading multiple SIB and FEED projects in hydrometallurgy and minerals processing throughout Africa.

Provision of on site engineering services to the VZI Gamsberg Mine, reporting directly to the on site projects department manager, effectively providing process engineering skills and metallurgical expertise for the projects department. Tasks included improvement initiatives identification, scoping and follow through with projects from small scale improvement initiatives through to full scale capital projects. Draw on process engineering expertise and on site experience to drive process design changes and additional circuits required to improve the performance of existing circuits in order to improve overall process yield and efficiency.

Reviewing all metallurgical processes on site and earmarking key projects on cost/benefit basis in order to improve on overall mine production, mineral recovery and process efficiency. Development of CER documentation including design documention, project budgeting and scheduling. Project management from design through to execution.

Plant Metallurgist responsible for process control and heavy mineral concentrate production relating to throughput, mineral recovery and process efficiencies. Development and provision of daily/weekly/monthly and yearly production reports. Training of local employees and management of local concentrator plant metallurgical technicians

Process Engineer responsible for all related activities from managing testwork activities, conceptual process design all through to commissioning and project handover.Key Skills Utilised:Development of process description,mass balance, PFD's, PID's, functional specification and control philosophy. Management of HAZOP, assisting in procurement activities and project budgeting. Project scoping, feasibility and definitive feasibility studies. Consulting to the minerals and mining industry.

Shift team leader responsible for daily production at the pilot plant. Assisted with development of process documentation and input towards design of the fixed plant.
