Embarking on a transformative journey, I transitioned from a 20-year tenure in the restaurant industry to pursuing my entrepreneurial dreams by starting my own photography business. This significant change was motivated by my desire for personal growth and my ongoing commitment to recovery. My professional path now marries my passion for helping others with my love for photography, creating a unique and fulfilling career.As a full-time Case Manager at Valiant Living, I play a crucial role in supporting up to 25 men in our recovery program. My responsibilities range from coordinating appointments and imparting life skills to facilitating access to legal services and managing medications. Beyond these duties, I serve as the Technology Integration Specialist, overseeing the monitoring of our clients' device profiles. This role enables us to gain deeper insights into their behaviors, crucial for tailoring our clinical approach to each individual's needs.Photography, however, is where my heart truly lies when I step out of the office. I am proud to be the staff photographer for the Denver Fire Department, gaining national recognition as an Event Photographer. For three consecutive years, I have been the Lead Photographer for Denver Pride, immersing myself in the vibrant LGBTQ community. Events like Rainbow Cult and countless others have seen me through my lens, capturing moments that become cherished memories.This dual career path reflects my commitment to making a positive impact in both the recovery community and the field of photography. My journey from the hospitality industry to establishing a photography business, all while playing a vital role in the recovery process of many, is a testament to the power of resilience, the importance of empathy, and the fulfillment derived from following one's passions. My work allows me to connect with diverse individuals, helping them navigate their recovery journey while also capturing the essence of community and celebration through my photography.
