Tyrone Singleton is a native of Edgefield, South Carolina and graduate of Strom Thurmond High School. He attended South Carolina State University in Orangeburg, South Carolina and received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Music Education in May, 1980. Mr. Singleton received his Master of Music Education Degree from Vander Cook School of Music in Chicago, Illinois in July, 1996. Mr. Singleton taught band in Twiggs County Georgia, at Mt. Zion Middle School in Fairfield County, Robert Smalls Junior High School in Beaufort County, William J. Clark Middle School in Orangeburg County School District Five and the Orangeburg County Consolidate School District Three at Elloree and Lake Marion High School and Technology Center in Santee, South Carolina.Over the years Mr. Singleton’s bands have received superior and excellent ratings on the concert and marching band levels. He hosted the South Carolina Band Directors Association 1A/3A Lower State Marching Band Championship in 2007and 2008.
