My key duties as a freight associate were to stock merchandise and organizing the sales floor to create a pleasant and safe shopping environment. Along with my regular duties as freight associate I was part of a pilot program my company initiated to better control inventory and overhead space. During this program I was in charge of a four-man team and we were assigned 50 bays a week. While handling the restock of our inventory, we had to make sure that each bay were 100 percent complete by the end of the week.

As a paint associate I was in contact with contractors and homeowners helping them choose the most economical products that would assist them in completing their projects. During this I was also the assistant to the supervisor sometimes running the department in their absence, leading a team of six people. As the assistant I was charge of setting up end caps of aisles and to prepare for holiday sales, which I was recognized for through Home Depot’s Homer Badge program receiving a company watch. Other assignment I completed was to make sure that the department’s top selling SKUs on hand count were 100 percent accurate. I assisted with the training of newly hired paint associates also held weekend classes teaching homeowners basic painting skills and other techniques.
