Managing DirectorTransparentrx Jan 2010 - PresentLas Vegas, Nevada, UsBoutique pharmacy benefits manager (PBM) operating as a fiduciary or administrative fee-only adviser. Although all PBM contracts with clients are viewable by both parties, PBMs operating under the traditional model often employ contractual wording that allows for pricing and reimbursement mechanisms that render clarity of expenditure and actual cost drivers to be elusive and are designed to maximize the overall margin for the PBM. Under the fiduciary model, contracts negotiated between PBMs, clients, and pharmacies are designed to be as understandable and transparent as possible, which, ostensibly, is meant to encourage the best therapeutic outcomes and financial interests for the stakeholders (clients, enrollees, and patients). The primary purpose of this position is to design and execute a PBM strategy with respect to third-party contracting and managed care marketplace positioning such as to effect increases in sales, reduce plan sponsors' cost, and improve patient outcomes while maintaining and improving gross profit margins. Frequent independent judgments are essential. This position directly supervises associates and carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with TransparentRx policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, training, directing, rewarding, and disciplining associates; appraising associate performance; and resolving complaints. -
