I've developed a wealth of experience at Philco Systems as an industrial automation project leader and systems integrator. I have successfully managed numerous projects with a focus on the aluminum smelting sector and have shown proficiency in a number of fields, including system improvements, dross disposal upgrades, substation and PLC installations, and automation design.I was involved in planning and carrying out system updates for conveyor systems, making sure they were more effective, had less downtime, and could produce more. I have helped the aluminum smelter operate more efficiently by putting creative solutions into practice and effortlessly integrating modern systems.Additionally, I was a member of the Aluminum Dross Disposal System's effective update, which involved putting sophisticated waste management strategies into place to lower trash generation and improve recycling procedures. Significantly reduced costs for the company through improved recovery rates and optimized disposal techniques.In the aluminum smelter, I have also successfully overseen the installation and commissioning of new PLC systems. I have increased system dependability, decreased maintenance costs, and increased operational efficiency by making sure that the new infrastructure is seamlessly integrated with the old, and by putting advanced automation techniques and controls in place.Over the course of my employment at Philco Systems, I have also actively participated in a number of project management-related activities, such as designing and approving technical drawings, acquiring required equipment, creating budget cost proposals, performing risk assessments, creating functional analyses, and drafting method statements and work scopes.I now have a thorough understanding of industrial automation, project management, and system integration in the aluminum smelting sector thanks to my time with Philco Systems.

This role involves going to various mining sites, including but not limited to DeBeers Voorspoed, Anglo Plat Mogolakwena, Anglo Plat Amandelbult, Gold Fields South Deep, Anglo Gold Ashanti in Geita Tanzania, Teranga Mine in Senegal, Nord Gold in Guinea, Sishen Iron Ore, etc. as part of the technical team to do various installations on both mobile and fixed plant assets. Technical inspections and ensuring that the operation of the equipment was in good order to promote maximum production time. The role also involved servicing of the equipment and all the usual paperwork that goes with when working on the SAP systems. Part of my responsibility was to produce audit reports and conduct oil sampling and check the monitoring of each asset. I also worked in the lab to investigate the results from the oil analysis to report back on finding and course of action as our drivers was to reduce the contamination and drain oil only on condition. I also did the technical drawings for each site and handles any IT related issues per site. I worked in Tanzania on several rotations of 3 months at a time and had the privilege to drive from South Africa to Tanzania on two occasions. When I was in the office, I had to work with the team researching the latest and best technologies to solve client specific challenges. I also designed the technical drawings and produced the company brochures. My current project involves the design and building of a prototype for new technology for road transport, including electronics on the Arduino board as user interface for the driver and to collect data for further analysis. Trials were successful and implemented on various vehicles for longer term testing.
