Technical inspections and ensuring that the operation of the equipment was in good order to promote maximum production time. The role also involved servicing of the equipment and all the usual paperwork that goes with when working on the SAP systems. Part of my responsibility was to produce audit reports and conduct oil sampling and check the monitoring of each asset. I also worked in the lab to investigate the results from the oil analysis to report back on finding and course of action as our drivers was to reduce the contamination and drain oil only on condition. I also did the technical drawings for each site and handles any IT related issues per site. I worked in Tanzania on several rotations of 3 months at a time and had the privilege to drive from South Africa to Tanzania on two occasions. When I was in the office, I had to work with the team researching the latest and best technologies to solve client specific challenges. I also designed the technical drawings and produced the company brochures. My current project involves the design and building of a prototype for new technology for road transport, including electronics on the Arduino board as user interface for the driver and to collect data for further analysis. Trials were successful and implemented on various vehicles for longer term testing. -
