Taught 3-5 sections of history, including world and modern history.Created and developed lectures, activities, debates, role-plays, assessments, exams.Evaluated and counseled students for acceptance or rejection into the AP course track. Administered/proctored PSAT testing. Created and developed an honors world history course which effectively presented an active, global experience focusing on global structures and patterns integrating sociology, philosophy, and economics. Created and developed a modern history elective in response to proven student interest in current events and human rights. Taught the creation of the modern Middle East, modern China, US civil rights history, and the history of race & genocide. Integrated audio-visual content via power point, photographs, online museum exhibitions, documentaries, etc. Designed and implemented a documentary production lesson and project into my history courses in order to broaden student experience in the practice of history. Efficiently transformed my history classes to operate paperless in a 1:1 student-laptop classroom ratio. Created an electronic classroom experience. Contributed to a revision of history department curriculum content for grades 6-12 to provide a more systematic process of history education. Created, submitted, and promoted a formal continuum of research/writing skill development to increase student proficiency, building from grade 6 to 12. Designed the continuum to work in concert and cooperation with English department curricula. Provided needed guidance and assistance to colleagues uncomfortable or facing difficulty with integrating technology in the classroom.
