Licensing & Retail ManagerNational Rugby League Aug 2016 - Jan 2018Sydney, AustraliaI moved into this role to assist with growing the #1 Sports Licensing programme in Australia. The key focuses were to strongly engage & build relationships with the NRL Clubs, its Licensees (suppliers) & key NRL Corporate partners. In addition, I also led the engagement with the NRL’s Key 3rd Party Retailers, particularly Super Retail Group whilst also assisting in the development & enhancement of the merchandise programme at NRL Major Events.This role has provided me with a detailed understanding of the operations of all parts of the NRL & in addition significant insight into the operations of its Clubs. The major contributions I have made in this role are:-• Led a major review of the NRL & Clubs Retail & eCommerce businesses & developed an extensive end to end plan to optimise. This involved significant Club & market engagement & thorough financial modelling;• Implemented key learnings from the review with 5 Clubs & 1 internal NRL department. This involved leading & managing, the transition of their eCommerce platform & changes to operational processes;• Led the review & procurement of freight services for the NRL & Clubs eCommerce. The new partner has delivered significant cost savings, improved customer experiences & an incremental sponsorship to the NRL;• Initiated & negotiated commercial arrangements on behalf of Clubs with 3rd party providers like PayPal, Afterpay & ZipMoney;• NRL lead for the Official Online Store (NRLSHOP) ensuring the partnership with the Super Retail Group was maximised;• Led a key NRL project that saw the development of NRL Travel (www.nrltravel.com). This enables fans to book both preset travel packages or flights & accommodation to NRL Major Events such as State of Origin & Grand Final. This involved extensive industry engagement, commercial negotiations & financial modelling;• Identified the opportunity to allow Click & Collect merchandise purchases at NRL Major Events & implemented a new website to facilitate within 1 week; -
General Manager – Online Operations - Australia & New ZealandDick Smith Electronics Apr 2014 - Apr 2016Sydney, AustraliaThis role was critical in supporting the recent growth of the Dick Smith Online business. The primary focuses of this role are the management of Online Fulfilment activities as well as the responsibility for all customer facing, ongoing customer interactions & management of non sale CODB costs that result from a customer’s online purchase. In addition it requires leadership, coaching and mentoring of the Online Operations team. Key recent activities include:-• Online Store Fulfilment Rollout - Rolled out the ability for 342 stores across Australia & NZ to fulfil an Online Home Delivery order. This required in house development of all processes, policies, training & support materials;• Click & Collect - Lead the Store & Online Operational components of this Online project that saw full function Click & Collect & associated processes implemented across every Dick Smith store in Australia & NZ. In Australia this also involved integration of Click & Collect via the Dick Smith eBay store;• Online Fulfilment Reporting - Developed from the ground up a full suite of reporting that monitors & manages the fulfilment activities of each store for Click & Collect + Home Delivery orders;• Operational Cost Transformation – This involved changes in systems and processes & revising existing strategies;• Lead the Online Operational component of the following major Online projects that saw the introduction of a:-1. Completely redesigned & more customer friendly Cart & Checkout;2. Completely new Supply Chain provider, Toll;3. New Call Centre/Customer service provider, Salmat as well as associated day to day policies & procedures;4.
