I’ve been working through the industry since my first job at 14. Previously my mate and I began a can and bottle recycling business to fundraise work in small villages in South West Vietnam. Due to Covid, the trip was put aside, but we continued to grow the business for 3 years. Over my time being part of running a small business, I learnt the importance of communication and loyalty with existing customers, and even promoting our brand to new ones. I’ve since left the business, but I’ve been able to experience very different ends of the hospitality industry, which has given me the opportunity to watch and learn different management styles. Working with people from different backgrounds and having to train them to business standard has given me a clear vision of how to work in a way that gives everybody around me the enthusiasm I have for the job.I’m currently studying Diploma of Hospitality Management at Tafe SA, to refine my skills and pursue my dream of climbing the ladder in the hospitality industry.
