Deputy Mission Operations Manager
CurrentI was the first person hired by the Space Dynamics Laboratory to fill the Operations Manager Role in a new market area. From day 1 I have been helping to design and build an operations system to run autonomous satellite operations for multiple satellite constellations from a single operations floor. I've worked hand-in-hand with multi-disciplinary engineers to build ground and flight software to customer specifications, integrate satellite's, test ground compatibility with multiple antenna networks, follow the acquisition process from proposal to finalizing end-of-life paperwork after successful mission completion. Of course I could not have done this on my own. I was able to build a cohesive satellite operations team to aid our lab grow in this market area. The level of rigor we've added to the end-to-end process in testing has increased our success rate on orbit from the smallsat industry standard of 50% to 90% success rate contacting and operating spacecraft after launch. I've been able to bring on another 14 personnel, matrixed to support classified and unclassified operations centers across the organization to support multiple government customers. General Raymond lauded us for our execution of the Operationally Responsive Space initiative with the Odyssey spacecraft design/build, integration, launch, checkout, and operations. I have been solicited to provide subject matter expertise to AFRL, Space Systems Command, Los Alamos National Labs, NASA, and other organizations. My Operations Team’s success contributed to a $1B IDIQ contract with AFRL. I am adding an MBA to my education portfolio to augment my experience with a commensurate degree as I work towards managing programs and leading more people as our market continues to grow.
