Did you know that nearly 1 in 4 of us in Australia aren't native English speakers? Not too surprising if you consider how multicultural Australia has been.Being a NAATI certified Mandarin interpreter, I work in various settings. They range from medical consultations and home visits to court cases and jail visits. It gives me great pleasure to facilitate communication between two or more parties. For those who are in need of expressing themselves but can't due to language barrier, I come in as the essential voice and cultural bridge for them.I'm also a perpetual learner--I've studied finance, multi-media production (animation, video, and sound editing), Spanish, French & Korean, interpreting & translating, tour guiding and business management.I had also participated in various volunteering work including Mother's Day Classic fun run and Spanish Film Festival. My latest obsession is painting by numbers. It's fun to relax and let my creative self take over the rational once in a while.Currently I work full-time for NSW Health and casually for NAATI, the accreditation authority for translators and interpreters. They both give me a great sense of achievement.
