To lead and co-ordinate teams of engineers, technologists, technicians & drafters in the design anddevelopment of transmission products.• To supervise, inspect and provide design support during the installation & implementation oftransmission network products.• To analyze requirements of the users & design/ develop transmission network architecture andspecifications. Also to evaluate operations and maintenance of telecommunication services andsubmit recommendations to seniors.• To provide expert level monitoring of the transmission network and to arrange quality control andassurance for links provided.• To identify resource gaps. Determine budgetary needs of the team and to provide input for the sameto the higher authorities.• To interface with seniors as well as second level maintenance and field operations teams fordiagnosis of complex faults thereby ensuring smooth traffic flow within transmission jurisdiction.Also to have administrative control over team, duty roster and vacation plan of the engineers.• To select and provide communicating medium such as Microwave, Optic fiber, ISDN or VSAT, asper required capacity.• To possess hands on experience on GIS tools and of working with different transmission systemsnamely DWDM, SDH, MW and IP• To monitor enforcement by different Vendors/ field operation teams & liaise with them to resolvedifficulties if any faced, ensuring smooth operations of the telecommunications systems.• To work with the line function and planning teams for introduction of new products, impart productknowledge of specific SDH Platforms i.e. HUAWEI OSN, HUAWEI RTN, NEC - NEO &PASOLINK and to familiarize with IP transport.• To arrange installation and commissioning of NEC Digital Microwave Radio Systems and NEC’sSDH and PDH (protected and un-protected) PDH Systems, Space Diversity, STM and XPIC links & generally to ensure updates in SOP andprocesses of the team in alignment with the overall policies and procedures
