Had a great experience of production at stitching department, identify bottleneck and try to do follow ups on that , did a small activity regarding manufacturing of a whole garment and learn insights of garments according to quality aspects.

our main objective is to reduce manufacturing waste reduction in a garments industry for that we were recommended to implement SMED(single minute exchange of dies) in a stitching line , basically it's related to the changeover,it consist of internal and external activities.Internal activities are that which can only be perform when machine is stop and external activities can be performed when machine is working1) we did time study of the operations including back , front and assembly… Show more our main objective is to reduce manufacturing waste reduction in a garments industry for that we were recommended to implement SMED(single minute exchange of dies) in a stitching line , basically it's related to the changeover,it consist of internal and external activities.Internal activities are that which can only be perform when machine is stop and external activities can be performed when machine is working1) we did time study of the operations including back , front and assembly sections and a garment contains 50+ operations to manufacture basically it was our learning and understanding the whole process phase 2) we did time study of changeover activities so that we can understand the elements which will be change at the time of changeover.in this phase we sort out Internal and External activities.3) This is the analysis phase we did pareto analysis,RCA and we came to conclusion that the Main problem is unavailability of man and material at the time of changeover.4) This was our implementation phase ,in this phase we implement 5s in needle store , maintenance store,trim store and KANBAN in feeding area.5) At the end we recommended three templates which was 5min maintenance checklist, quick changeover checklist, input template these templates will help in the reduction of changeover time and also helps in production by increasing availability of man and material Show less
