• As a member of Global Payment Authentication team, I worked on services that improve customers' trust through a rich set of payment challenge methods (such as CVV verification at Card Registration and 3D Secure challenges) that limit friction while ensuring protections are in place to prevent fraudulent payments.• Created and owned a new Payment Authentication Service. The new Service features improved infrastructure changes and coding logic improvements. Upon launching the new Service in Asia Pacific regions, we observe a significant improvement on latency (of p99, p90, avg and p50), ranging from 39% to 55% latency reduction, which leads to 7 to 12 ms reduced checkout wait time for Amazon customers. (Note: Decreasing checkout latency by just 10 milliseconds yields significant annual cost savings for Amazon, amounting to $10 million.)• Created and owned a serverless, event-driven Lambda service that enables Amazon Customer Service staffs to unblock genuine customers who are blocked when consecutively entering wrong CVV Number on their credit card by mistake.• Owner and completed Graviton migration and JDK11 upgrade for a tier-1 service. Graviton2 provides up to 40 percent better price-performance over comparable x86-based instances. This strategic move underscores our commitment to efficiency and cost-effectiveness in our infrastructure operations.
