Starlink was one of the very few companies that had the diverse technical knowledge required to develop GPS receiver technology in the days before single chip solutions. Starlink was sold to Raven Industries in Dec of 2001.Starlink designed and manufactured GPS receivers, specifically Differential GPS (DGPS). My jobs included business manager, marketing director, tech writer, hardware engineer, software engineer, sales person, and tech support. Most importantly, I was responsible for product design and customer communications.Starlink had great growth eventually reaching 40+ employees with several products using patented technology. Very high performance GPS receivers, agricultural steering guidance products, GPS signal conditioning, and accurate time control products.
