I joined Forno as a server and especially an expeditor. As expeditor, I garnished and presented all the plates before they were received by the servers. In addition, it was my top priority to make sure all sections of the kitchen aligned with complex orders. I was in constant communication with these sections so all parts of ticket came out at the same time hot and ready. I found my organizational, communication, and multi-tasking skills reached an all time high and the high pressure situations taught me the importance of team work.

I started off as a team member with basic duties then slowly was awarded more shift manager duties such as food prepping and manning the grill during shifts. I was part of the team under new ownership, and we successfully reintroduced the deli into the community as it had been a favorite of the town for many decades. My time there sharpened my multitasking skills which allowed me to handle multiple orders at once while being able to effectively communicate with the staff and the guests.

Shortly before my two-year mark at Graeter's, I had decided I wanted to experience the environment in a fine-dining establishment. Enoteca Emilia was opening right next door in Loveland so I applied. It was an honor to become a part of an Italian restaurant because of my Italian heritage. I started off as a busser and dishwasher and slowly worked my way up to server. Serving taught me the importance of time management and organization. I was able to establish strong bonds with frequent guests and tailored their experience as I had with Italian home cooking from my youth.

This was my first job and first food industry experience. Shortly before a year being there, I was promoted to shift manager to oversee the shop in place of the store manager. Managerial duties included assigning mid-shift and closing-shift duties to employees, receiving product shipments, keeping inventory, balancing cash receipts, and maintaining professionalism through guest service protocols. During my tenure, Graeter's launched their new app for customers to download to become a part of their Sweet Rewards program. I helped countless customers set up and transition their accounts to the new interface.
