-Integrated and managed clinical and genetic data from diverse psychiatric disorder cohorts for comprehensive research access.-Processed raw genotype data to conduct GWAS of psychiatric disorders, including ultra-treatment-resistant schizophrenia, to identify statistically significant genetic variants. -Generated polygenic risk score of individuals with various spectrum of schizophrenia to evaluate the relationship between genetic scores and case/control status.-Currently focusing on exploring the genetic architecture of ultra-treatment-resistant schizophrenia, with a particular interest in determining whether genetic risk scores can help distinguish this form from typical schizophrenia for earlier diagnosis. By leveraging genotype and phenotype data from diverse populations and biobanks, I am collaborating with teams at the University of North Carolina, Karolinska Institutet and Cardiff University to expand our understanding of this complex condition.-Investigating the relationship between obesity-related genetic factors and schizophrenia.

-Sourced and managed RNA-Seq data from healthy and cancerous tissue samples, obtained from NCBI, TCGA, and GTEx databases.-Processed data for alternative splicing and differential gene expression using tools such as FastQC, TopHat2, DEXSeq, rMATS, and EdgeR.-Applied in-house algorithms and methodologies to generate catalogs of differentially used exons and introns across 50+ normal tissue types, and identified cancer-specific ectopic splicing events in the cancer transcriptome. -Integrated pathogenic mutations from the COSMIC database with aberrant splicing events in cancer, providing insights into their functional significance in disease progression, with a focus on key genes, splicing factors, and proteins.-Validated bioinformatic findings through experimental data, using molecular biology techniques including cell culture, RNA extraction, RT-PCR, and gel electrophoresis.-Assisted in writing research grant proposals, prepared and published manuscripts of research findings in peer-reviewed journals, and reviewed manuscripts for scientific publications. Additionally, mentored graduate and undergraduate students in project planning, experimental design, data analysis, and manuscript preparation.-Collaborated as a team player on multiple projects with lab mates and worked across different labs, including co-authoring and publishing research paper with teams from China and Korea.
