My career journey has been an iterative experience which has involved 'self discovery', experimentation and building my own pathway in an evolutionary manner. It has been enjoyable, albeit nerve wracking at times! Started my life as a Tea Taster in North East India, tasting 250 plus cups of Tea from Darjeeling, Western Dooars, regions each day. Definitely wasn't my cup of tea, but got to enjoy the splendor of North East India.Moved on to pursue my Masters, and subsequently worked with India's First Organized Food Retailing venture (1999) in Delhi, where we attempted to break the kirana mindset. It was a learning experience!My first brush with startups was as Founder member of a Digital Learning Startup during the Dotcom era. The experience was rich and I was ready to chart my own path.I started off as a HR entrepreneur in 2003 and rode the IT/ITES Offshoring wave for 3 years until things got commoditized. After a fair degree of 'discovery' for 'white spaces', I stumbled into the world of Biotech and Life Sciences. In 2008, partnered with ABLE, (Association of Biotech Led Enterprises), to create a Life Science Career platform ABLE C-DRIVE, which brought hiring Science based organizations and job seekers under one roof. This helped scale our organization and we expanded into Chemical, Food, Agri & other allied Science based sectors. C-DRIVE emerged as the destination platform for hiring organizations and job seekers in the Bio and Chemical sciences enabling 2000 plus careers.At C-DRIVE I observed that the employability challenge evoked more emotion than tangible action in the sector. Most solutions were self serving business propositions leaving students out in the cold to fend for themselves. After conducting several PBL Workshops across the country, first Physically and then Digitally, the power of 'Collaborative Learning' was validated. SciTal was founded as a vehicle to make this happen at large. We got the opportunity to deliver the Govt of Andhra Pradesh's Life Science Skill Development program digitally. It worked wonders and 70% placement was achieved across Rural AP.Subsequently, SciTal was chosen as winner of ELEVATE 2019, by the Govt. Of Karnataka.Our Digital Peer Learning model was successfully validated and used across colleges and Low Income Schools . Alas, we fell victim to the 2nd wave of Covid. My experiences over the past 20 years have converged at Udhyam, where our mission to Make Bharat Entrepreneurial has gained significant momentum. We've partnered with 10 states, 2.9 million kids and counting!
