I am a hardworking, ambitious graduate research student who is passionate about pursuing an academic career in Structural Engineering. My research interests are multi-scale modelling of fibre reinforced composites, deployable structures and design optimization of structural elements. I enjoy generating new ideas and devising feasible solutions to broadly relevant problems. My colleagues would describe me as a driven, resourceful individual who maintains a positive, proactive attitude when faced with adversity.In addition to my academic focus, I am quite competent in leading, managing and collaborating towards a common goal with the experience in school days as a senior prefect and at my university as a committee member of Engineering Faculty Students' Union. Currently I am seeking opportunities that will allow me to develop and promote technologies that benefit future structures to be optimized and to pay back the debt I owed to my home country Sri Lanka for the free education given to me.
