Led Program management of the UX platform for the Hololens incubation. Hololens enables a new way of computing, going beyond virtual reality to enable mixed reality computing, where holograms exist in the real world. The holograms are viewed through a self contained head mounted display and computer that a user can comfortably wear. • Led UI platform and shell product for Windows Holographic OS incubation. • Co-owned the experiential product road map with design. • Led the UX design, rapid prototyping and experimentation of new user interaction models that used hand gestures, head movements, eye tracking and ancillary devices. • Agile prototyping of 5 different interaction models which helped develop the eventual UX. • Led the search for, evaluated and acquired a new graphics engine technology and its development team.http://www.microsoft.com/microsoft-hololens/en-us

The labs was set up as a captive incubator to pitch and validate new scenarios + technologies for the Windows Phone and later, Windows platforms. The lab reported to the President of the Windows OS group and worked to develop successful business/experience/technology proposals which would be evaluated and funded. • Led successful incubation of technologies in IoT, computational photography, automated storytelling, core operating systems and hyperlocal technology areas. • One of the founding members of the incubation team • Led multi-disciplinary teams from marketing, engineering, brand, design and research. • Drove and delivered holistic pitches with prototypes, market viability and business model. • 3 out of the 4 pitches successfully funded and incorporated into Windows. • Over $5m in internal funding secured for new incubation • Extensive partnerships with research bringing lab innovations to product form.

Owned the overall commercialization roadmap for the Windows Mobile OS and led team that delivered Operating System features to enable industry partners to ship phones worldwide. • Responsible for ensuring that world wide partners shipped millions of phones on time • Owned the GTM calendar and led team that delivered on critical MO and OEM requirements. • Ensured quarterly targets were tracked and met by improving software delivery times by over 400%. • On time WW shipping of ~ 15 million devices / 70 + launches / 6 + OEMs / 20 + mobile operators  • Built relationships with partners - telecom operators and handset manufacturers, to align roadmaps. • Partners included top Fortune 100 co’s - MO’s : China Mobile, Vodafone, AT&T, Verizon, China Unicom, Telefonica, DoCoMo and OEMs : Samsung, LG, HTC, Toshiba • Set up relationships with Facebook, Netflix, LinkedIn to create the some of the first mobile smartphone applications as partner value adds.

Driving creation of new high value, vertical SKUs of Windows Mobile OS for the consumer and Enterprise segments. • Collaborated with multiple Fortune 100 enterprise IT departments and users to create a managed Windows Mobile software platform • Created a new Enterprise mobile SKU with 200% margin improvements • Successfully pitched a new consumer mobile offering to Microsoft and Samsung corp exec leadership which led to the SGH-i600 handset • Improved attach in Western European and Asian open market and retail channels by over 500%

One of the first cloud based mobile services focused on location based logistics, device management and cost management. This role involved creating the engineering plan and collaborating with business planning and marketing to create a SMB focused mobile service. • Created the vision and roadmap for a new SMB focused, cloud based managed mobile SAAS offering • Worked on market surveys, segmentation and value proposition development. • PM’d prototyping a salable mobile services architecture using a multi tiered device and services management stack on SQL and Windows Server with OMA DM as the core mobile management protocol. • Project incorporated into broader mobile services offering.

Portable Media Center was a small Microsoft designed handheld media player that could work with leading media services to playback audio and video. It was the worlds first handheld A/V player that could playback subscription music and video. • PM on the initial incubation team that prototyped, successfully pitched and launched the device. • Owned the sync engine, OS platform, DRM and subscription playback experiences. • Owned the media content roadmap for the V1 and V2 the device helping create one of the first online digital music and online video subscription service. • Worked with Top 10 media companies including Disney, Universal, HBO, ESPN, MLB, MTV, MSNBC • Drove a 70 person virtual team across Microsoft groups that resulted in key innovation : DRM to enable subscription content, ability to unplug a USB device without ejecting, self healing OS updates and driverless PC synchronization.

My first role at Microsoft involved program managing the Activesync protocol and creating a new device management product for embedded devices working with Fedex and UPS, the two largest customers for Windows CE devices. Drove the creation of a new device management protocol and client for the Windows CE operating system. Worked with the Systems Management Server team to align with client needs. Open sourced the protocol to ensure market adoption.

Helped start up Avadhi, a startup aiming to create a Futures trading platform. Employee #1 coding up a futures trading platform and prototyping a touch UI for rapid trading.

Research assistant in the Systems and Networking Lab at MSU, CSE department. NSF + Office of Naval Research sponsored research project on using agents to improve robustness of systems. Published in the IEEE Transactions on Computers.
