Uday Singh serves as the Managing Director of the Motion Picture Association's (MPA) India office, where he champions the growth and support of the film, television, and streaming content industries.A seasoned industry expert, Uday brings over 25 years of experience in the entertainment sector and a total of 40 years in various professional roles.Prior to his current position, Uday was the CEO of PVR Pictures. There, he expanded distribution channels across television, digital streaming, music, and other platforms while spearheading the development of a robust slate of local language productions.Previously, Uday held the role of Executive Vice President for the Columbia Tristar Motion Picture Group, where he managed and expanded Sony's portfolio of local Indian language films.From 1996 to 2009, Uday served as the Managing Director of Sony Pictures India. He orchestrated a remarkable turnaround for the company, establishing it as the leading Hollywood studio in India. During his tenure, he enhanced Sony's theatrical distribution capabilities, including overseeing Disney's distribution and producing the first Indian film by a Hollywood studio.Uday began his illustrious career at Philips, where he held senior positions across the consumer electronics, domestic appliances, and multimedia divisions.An alumnus of Harvard Business School's Advanced Management Program, Uday also holds a bachelor's degree in commerce from Osmania University and an MS degree in Digital Business (magna cum laude) from GBSB Global Business School in Spain.Uday actively contributes to the industry as the co-chair of the Film division of the FICCI Media & Entertainment Committee and serves on both the FICCI-IP and CII Media & Entertainment Committees.The MPA's member studios include Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures, Netflix Studios LLC., Paramount Pictures Corporation, Sony Pictures Entertainment Inc., Universal City Studios LLC, and Warner Bros.
