> Comprehensive professional experience in varied laboratory functions> Cross-trained in different areas that include, but not limited to, Hematology, Immunology & Serology, Clinical Microscopy, Clinical Chemistry and recently as of Aug 2017, in the Drug Assay department> Specimen collection, handling and preparation prior to testing> Execute and interpret laboratory results with a keen ability to identify discrepancies, record and release test results> Discerned for the ability to multi-task and perform tasks concurrently during limited staffing and supervision> Ensure quality control of laboratory procedures> Prepare monthly census of laboratory tests, inventory of reagents and supplies> Equipments : STATFAX, SYSMEX

Under the direct supervision of clinical instructors and licensed nurses:> Donor recognition, interview and screening> Specimen handling and collection> Worked on routine ABO blood typing and Rh typing tests> Ensure that the blood collected is safe for transfusion> Examine blood units that may be positive for Syphilis, Hepatitis B & C, Human Immunodeficiency Virus 1 & 2 and Malaria> Blood component preparation, processing and storage

Under the direct supervision of a clinical instructor and licensed medical technologist:> Carry out routine laboratory procedures in hematology, clinical microscopy, blood chemistry, immunology, serology and microbiology departments> Phlebotomy> Specimen handling, collection and preparation> Calculate test records and measure prescribed quantities of samples> Documented required specimens required in lab and prepared acquisition lists accordingly
